On Sunday, May 21, the Monarchs — Alameda city’s co-ed high school Ultimate Frisbee team — won first place at the State Championships. The team defeated Berkeley High, 13-7, in the championship game.

Dark Meat was just inches away from California title

Alameda’s own Junior Meat, a middle-school Ultimate Frisbee team, won both the state championship and the “Spirit of the Game” award in the California State Ultimate Middle School Tournament held on May 17 and 18.
