Jonathan De Los Reyes created a wide distance between himself and the rest of the field on his way to win the 87th Annual Alameda Commuters Tournament last Sunday, May 4.
De Los Reyes entered the second weekend of the tournament with a four-stroke lead at seven-under par 135. But his play in the third round, or moving day as it is called at the Commuters removed any doubt that Reyes would be the winner.
The 87th Annual Alameda Commuters Golf Tournament will be coming to the Island City at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex on the weekend of April 26 and May 3.
This year a field of more than 200 of the best amateur golfers in the country will compete over the two weekends. The Northern California Golf Association licenses the event and will award 250 points to the winner. The 26th annual Alameda Commuters Senior Golf Tournament with take place during the second weekend of the event.

The Alameda Friends of the Park Foundation will be holding the 2014 edition of the Play for the Parks Tournament Monday, Sept. 15 at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex.
Proceeds of the event will help finance citywide projects. The Friends of the Parks Foundation support the preservation, knowledge and awareness of our natural resources through sponsoring community programs and projects in cooperation with the Alameda community and the Department of Recreation and Parks.
