On Tuesday, Sept. 16, the City Council voted to abandon plans to create a city-sponsored rents task force, opting instead to allow a local attorney to lead a community-based process to explore concerns about rising rents. The council voted 3-2 to move forward with the community-based process; the community group is to report its findings to the Council on Dec. 2.
Alameda Citizens Task Force (ACT) will hold its quarterly meeting next Wednesday, April 30, at 7 p.m. in Conference Room A at Alameda Hospital, 2070 Clinton Ave.
The meeting will feature a panel presentation and audience discussion “Responsible School Board Governance.” In November voters will elect two members of the school board and possibly vote on a bond measure for the school district. The meeting will discuss issues surrounding these decisions.
