The St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) baseball team made quick work of the Swett Warriors in a 6-1 victory on Monday, May 9, on the road. The team from Crockett was no match for the Pilots’ offense and pitching duo.
The Pilots needed just two innings to put away the Warriors. By the second inning the game was never in doubt.
The St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) men’s basketball team took down Woodside Priory Portola Valley 61-50 on its home court in the NorCal Div. V quarterfinals last Saturday, March 12.
The Pilots were in control of the contest from the onset. Their defense held the Panthers to just seven first quarter points. Meanwhile, the Pilots offensive tallied 19 points to give them a double-digit lead at the end of the first period.
The St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) women’s basketball team is off to a great start to the 2015-16 basketball season. The team is 4-0 on the year including three wins and the championship in the Roundball Classic.
The Pilots beat the El Cerrito Gauchos 50-41 in the opening round of the Roundball Classic on Thursday, Dec. 3. The Pilots got off to a great start in the contest holding a 15-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. However, the Gauchos fought back outscoring the Pilots 14-10 in the second period to close the gap to 25-24 at halftime.
Two sisters attending St. Joseph Notre Dame High School (SJND) swept the North Coast Section (NCS) Div. II tennis tournaments last month. SJND freshman Azaria Hayes blew away the competition on her way to being crowned the NCS Div. II tennis singles champion. Azaria was dominant in the two-day tournament played at Santa Rosa High Nov. 17 and 18.
The St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) high school spring sports regular season came to a close last week, but several teams are playing in league tournaments.
The SJND men’s basketball team (14-13 overall) took on El Cerrito on Tuesday, Feb. 17, in the Tri-County Athletic League (TCAL) semifinal. The Pilots downed St. Mary’s of Albany 61-39 in the first round on Friday, Feb. 13. If they win they will face the winner of St. Patrick/St. Vincent of Vallejo and Salesian of Richmond on Feb. 20.
