The West Alameda Business Association (WABA) announced last week that sewer lines along Webster Street will be undergoing replacement during the next month.

The locations impacted are: Webster Street between Haight and Central avenues; Taylor Avenue  between Webster and Page streets and Page Street between Taylor and Santa Clara avenues.

The project is underway now between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. and is expected to last until May 2.

The city’s Community Development and Public Works departments will join East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) to host a meeting to discuss potential changes to the city’s private sewer lateral ordinance.

This ordinance identifies a property owner’s responsibilities for sewer lateral testing, repair, and replacement, especially at the point of a sale or transfer.
