Lace up your walking shoes for a walk around the Island City. On Saturday, May 3, the Alameda Police Department (APD) is sponsoring the “May You Arrive Safely” with two walks.

In Alameda County more than 95 percent of children’s car seats are used or installed incorrectly. Don’t put your child at risk. The Alameda Police Department (APD) is teaming up with the Alameda County Child Passenger Workgroup and Habitot Children’s Museum to inspect child car seats.

Officers from the Sacramento, Alameda and Berkeley police departments have arrested three suspects in connection with the 2010 murder of 35-year-old Eric Franklin in Alameda. One of the men arrested is also wanted in connection with a second killing in unincorporated San Leandro.
