Oakland A's

The Port of Oakland Board of Commissioners approved a tentative agreement with the Oakland Athletics that will allow the baseball team to build a stadium across the Oakland Estuary at Howard Terminal.

The Oakland A’s mascot Stomper hung out with Alameda’s new City Manager, Eric J. Leavitt, May 1, when the Major League Baseball team hosted a town hall meeting about its proposed new stadium at Oakland’s Howard Terminal. The meeting was held at Michaan’s Auction Theater at Alameda Point. The new stadium location, just across the estuary from Alameda Point, poses some interesting challenges and opportunities for synergy with the Island City.

The West Alameda Business Association (WABA) co-hosted a forum to discuss the Oakland A’s proposed new ballpark across the estuary at Howard Terminal and redevelopment of the Oakland Coliseum location. The event took place at Michaan’s Auction Theater at Alameda Point, not far from the proposed stadium location.
