All six Alameda high school baseball and softball teams qualified for the North Coast Section (NCS) playoffs.
The Alameda High (AHS) baseball team is the first seed in the NCS Div. II playoffs. The Hornets (23-2-1 overall) took on the 16th-seed Newark Memorial yesterday in the first round. The winner will take on the winner of the Tamalpais of Mill Valley and Marin Catholic of Kentfield game Saturday, May 26.
Alameda High School baseball coach Ken Arnerich was presented the 2017 North Coast Section (NCS) Honor Coach award Tuesday, May 9, for his outstanding accomplishments as a coach.
Arnerich is a 14-year varsity baseball coach at Alameda High. He has taught baseball skills to and coached many outstanding players. His teams have always been competitive, with seven appearances in the semifinal and championship rounds of the NCS baseball tournament.
