The St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) women’s basketball team defeated Arcata High, 90-47, to win the Div. IV North Coast Section (NCS) title Saturday, March 3, at Albany High.

Alameda and Encinal high school swim teams competed at North Coast Section (NCS) swim and diving championship meet May 12 and 13 in Concord.

Several Alameda high school athletes had great performances at the North Coast Section (NCS) Meet of Champions last weekend at UC Berkeley.

The St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) women’s cross country team won the North Coast Section (NCS) Div. V title for the second year in a row last Saturday, Nov. 19, at Hayward High.

St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) women’s tennis sister duo Aysha and Azaria Hayes won the North Coast Section (NCS) Div. II women’s doubles championship in a three-set match last Wednesday, Nov. 16.

After one week of play in the North Coast Section (NCS) playoffs one Alameda high school team is still alive, while the other had its season ended.

Women finish first, men second

The Alameda High football team seniors were given a jovial sendoff after winning its regular season finale and presumably final home game on Senior Night 22-20 over Hayward last Friday at Thompson Field. 

A St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) track-and-field athlete completed an impressive 2015-2016 season with a California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) title in the men’s 3,200-meter race, last Saturday, June 4.
