On Dec. 23, 2022, Alameda’s Winter Warming Shelter opened to the public to provide a warm place to sleep, eat dinner and breakfast, and shower.

The City of Alameda announced earlier this month that it began work on a new five-year Homelessness Strategic Plan (HSP) to reduce and prevent homelessness in Alameda and strengthen the physical health, mental health, and social service supports for Alameda’s unhoused residents.
