The Encinal High School (EHS) softball team’s season opener against Irvington High of Fremont on Thursday, March 3, was decided after the top of the first inning. Encinal being the road team batted in the top of the first inning. Before the teams switched sides the Jets led 11-0.
The high school baseball season started last week. Encinal High School went 1-1, defeating Skyline High (Oakland), 7-5, on Feb. 23 before losing, 6-0, to Liberty High (Brentwood) on Feb. 26.
At its Feb. 17 public meeting, the Board of Education appointed Kirstin Snyder, the current interim principal at Encinal Junior & Senior High School (EHS), as permanent principal.
At its Jan. 25 school board meeting, the Alameda Board of Education finalized its budget for the bond measure it will place on the June 2022 ballot. If passed, the bond will fund Phase II repairs and upgrades to schools based on the Alameda Unified School District’s (AUSD)Facilities Master Plan.
