eagle scout

Five Alameda Boy Scouts recently received their Eagle Scout awards.

The scouts each committed to several years of work, earning at least 21 merit badges, serving in multiple leadership positions, as well as planning and implementing community service projects to earn Scouting’s highest achievement.

For his Eagle project Stewart organized volunteers to paint the doors and railings of the portable buildings at Alameda Community Learning Center’s (ACLC) campus, 400 Grand St.

To improve the look of the new campus and help establish it as ACLC’s new home, Stewart worked with student and faculty leaders to choose a paint color and define the scope of the project.

He signed up 75 volunteers and logged more than 350 hours of service.
