This evening, Thursday, Feb. 26, Councilman Tony Daysog will hold office hours from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Blue Danube Coffee House at 1333 Park St.
The councilman regularly hosts these events where he is available to answer questions and offer comments on city issues. 

Daysog will also be available at the Alameda Farmers’ Market the following Saturday, Feb. 28, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. He will provide coffee and cookies.

EBMUD Director to Address Rotary

On Tuesday, Aug. 26, Doug Linney, Alameda’s representative on the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) board of directors will speak at the Rotary Club’s lunch meeting. Linney will address topics like the current drought and EBMUD’s plan for managing the water shortage. He will discuss the possibility of an EBMUD rate increase and the restrictions on and policing of water use.

Chan Addresses Poverty

The City of Alameda Democratic Club will host a talk by Alameda County Supervisor Wilma Chan at Alameda Hospital, Conference Room A, 2070 Clinton Ave.

Chan will discuss the county’s "New War on Poverty," and cover the effect the latest recession on state and federal budgets has had on the community. The event is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8; it is free and open to the public.
