Attempted robberies with pellet gun shock Alameda High School

At least four attempted armed robberies took place on the Alameda High School (AHS) campus Tuesday afternoon, March 4, according to a letter that AHS principal Robert Ithurburn sent to parents.

Grand theft (cash) reported at 7:44 a.m. on the 2900 block of Main Street.

Battery reported at 10:22 a.m. on the 3500 block of Catalina Avenue.

Last Thursday, convicted bank robber Amanuel Moreno, 21, stood before U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers in a federal courtroom in Oakland. He listened as Rogers sentenced him to five years and 10 months in federal prison.
