The Alameda City Council will convene its last Council meeting of 2016 on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at City Hall in the Council Chambers.

Three council referrals are on the agenda. Council referrals refer to matters placed on the agenda by a councilmember, which may be acted upon or scheduled as a future agenda item.

A negative political attack ad mailer against Councilmember Tony Daysog has created a bit of a stir less than three weeks from the election.

The mailer has two ads, the first shows excerpts from planning board member David Burton’s Sept. 14 letter in the Alameda Journal. Burton was critical of Daysog for not supporting the Planning Board’s decision to allow an assisted living facility be built near the Oakland Airport.

Councilmember Tony Daysog will hold his regular office hours on Thursday, May 26, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Blue Danube Café, 1333 Park St. He will answer questions and offer comments on city issues. He will also be at the Farmer’s Market at Webster Street and Haight Avenue the following Saturday, May, 28, from 9 to 11 a.m. To learn more, call 747-4726 or email tdaysog@alamedaca.gov

The city of Alameda’s Rent Stabilization and Eviction Limitation Ordinance that went into effect on March 1 has raised concerns from tenants, landlords and local politicians.

The Alameda City Council adopted the new ordinance to give relief to tenants from the increasing cost of rent in the city and create a process that would suppress landlord-renter tensions. However, the ordinance has created more squabbles between the two sides.

Councilman Tony Daysog will hold his regular “last-Thursday-of-the-month office hours” Thursday, March 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Blue Danube Cafe at 1333 Park St. He will be available to answer questions and offer comments on city issues.

Daysog will also be at the Farmer’s Market the following Saturday, April 2, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Contact Daysog at 747-4726 or tdaysog@alamedaca.gov
