The high school winter sports regular season ended last week for men’s and women’s soccer and basketball teams.
The Lincoln Middle School Lions roared to a double victory by clinching the Alameda Education Foundation’s (AEF) Division I and II girls’ basketball championships. Capping an undefeated season, the Lincoln Div. I team faced off against the Wood Middle School Beavers on Jan. 24.

The Alameda High School (AHS) men’s basketball team held off a spirited late comeback attempt by the host Encinal High School (EHS) to season sweep over their city rivals on Jan. 21.

Alameda High School’s (AHS) men’s basketball coach Miles Tarver was named the Golden State Warriors Cal-Hi Sports head coach of the week. The announcement was made on the weekly Cal-Hi Sports television program on Sunday, Jan. 8.
