Relay for Life Alameda Exceeds Fundraising Goals

The annual cancer research fundraiser, Relay for Life, held its Alameda event Saturday, July 23 from 1 to 10 p.m. at Jean Sweeney Park. The event was sponsored by the American Red Cross of Alameda County. Proceeds from the event benefit American Cancer Society (ACS).

Alameda’s chapter of the American Red Cross Youth (RCY) has been busy actively supporting community efforts. They packed special Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for the homebound and delivered them through Meals on Wheels all around the Island.
