Alameda Running Festival

The fourth annual Alameda Running Festival took place Sunday, Sept. 15, at Alameda Point. The half marathon, 10K, 5K and the family fun run were all held on the same day.

The Alameda Running Festival held on Sept. 16 at Alameda Point featured a half marathon, a 10k, 5k and a half relay. Here are the best times from each event:

Among men, Chris Thoburn, 29, of Oakland, finished first in 01:10:38; Arturo Fernandez, 33, of Oakland, finished second in 01:15:46 and Douglas Sigelbaum, 25, of San Francisco, finished third in 01:16:18.


This weekend the Bank of Marin’s Alameda Running Festival takes place at Alameda Point with an expanded Health and Fitness Expo, beer garden, live music after Sunday’s half marathon and three flat and unique run courses that showcase the beauty of the Island. 

A 5-kilometer run will kick off the weekend’s events at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. This year the 5k, along with the Health and Fitness Expo is presented by Penumbra Inc. 


Registration is now open for the second annual Bank of Marin Alameda Running Festival. This year’s festival will take place Sept. 16 and 17 at Alameda Point.


Running enthusiasts from around the country traveled to Alameda to take part in the inaugural Bank of Marin Alameda Running Festival Oct. 29 and 30.


Halloween weekend event to include 1-mile kids’ fun run

Registration is open now for the Bank of Marin Alameda Running Festival. The festival will be the first of its kind in Alameda that will incorporate two days of racing, a health and wellness expo and a family fun run. The event will take place Halloween weekend Oct. 29 and 30 with the 5k, 10k and kids’ run on Saturday, and a half marathon on Sunday. The event begins and ends at Alameda Point.
