The Kiwanis Club of Alameda held a celebratory luncheon on May 17 for the seven Alameda eighth graders that received the 2023 Hope of America award. Alameda Kiwanis recognizes young leadership in each eighth-grade classroom.

After many months of only Zoom contact, the Islanders/Special Olympics athletes of Alameda held an evening holiday party in Lincoln Park. Tyler Cobb, Special Olympics advisor, organized parents and Alameda Kiwanians who decorated the outdoor space with lights and Christmas table decorations.

The Alameda Kiwanis foundation has extended the deadline for graduating Alameda seniors to apply for 2020 college scholarships. Applications and information are posted at www.alamedakiwanis.org.

The Alameda Kiwanis Foundation recently awarded scholarships to six high school seniors and eight middle-school students.  The foundation bases its scholarship awards on academics, character, community involvement and leadership.
