More than 500 people showed up for a “March for Our Lives” vigil on Saturday, March 24, at Park Street and Santa Clara Avenue. The crowd swelled with Alamedans showing their support for the children and expressing their wishes to see an end to gun violence in schools.
Kelly Lux (middle, with her dog Lulu) recently helped Friends of Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) obtain a $10,000 grant from State Farm Insurance’s “100 For Good” community program.
The Alameda Free Library and Alameda Animal Shelter invites the Alameda community to be kind to a feline on International Cat Day by adopting a cat into your family. Come by to meet some cats, drink coffee, make crafts, and check out some cat-related books!
Alameda and Contra Costa counties’ animal shelters have united to ask the community to make a plan for their beloved companion animals.
