Alameda native Anthony Norris-Silva, who attended Saint Philip Neri School, earned the title of United States Marine on Nov. 1. Anthony will continue with combat training and schooling in Missouri where he will earn certifications for vehicle recovery, diagnosis and repair. Anthony’s long term plan is to become a firefighter. “The Alameda Sun was surely shining at MCRD San Diego that day!” wrote Anthony’s mom Anne Norris Durrin.
