The Sun Shines Everywhere

The Alameda Sun was shining on Nov. 25 in Cozumel, Mexico, at Yucab Reef to commemorate Jack Dougherty’s 100th dive with his grandkids, daughter and son-in-law, members of The AquaNutz and fellow Alamedans. Jack was a huge fan of the Sun and never failed to bring a copy on every dive trip he took with The AquaNutz! Jack passed away Feb. 16, after a brief battle with lung cancer and just shy of what would’ve been his 100th dive. It only seemed right that we too had a copy of the Sun to make this moment perfect in honoring the most amazing “GJ”, coach, father and friend to many. We miss his huge smile but surely felt him shining upon us this day. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to be a part of this wonderful tradition and the Sunset of the Sun Shines Everywhere post.
