Sun Shines Everywhere 2236

This fall Michelle Johnson and her daughter traveled to Iona, an island off the west coast of Scotland. Michelle was born and raised in Scotland and visited California 40 years ago for Christmas, fell in love and stayed. She then named all three of her children after Scottish islands. The photo shows Ainsley Iona and Michelle in front of Iona Abby built on the site of a monastery founded by Saint Columba, who brought Christianity to Scotland from Ireland in the year 563. The island is only 3 by 1.5 miles and is reached by ferry. “Gorgeous beaches just like Alameda!” wrote Johnson.
