Last month, part-time Alameda residents Scott and Kim Krivis took their Alameda Sun and traveled to Maui where they celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary. Since then, the island of Maui has been hit with multiple wildfires. The 2,170-acre Lahaina fire is 89 percent contained, the 1,081-acre Olinda fire is 85 percent contained, and the 202-acre Kula fire is 80 percent contained as of Wednesday, Aug. 16, according to the County of Maui. Maui United Way is accepting donations to its Maui Fire and Disaster Relief fund at https://www.mauiunitedway.org/disasterrelief.
