The Sun Shines Everywhere Greg and Angie Klein just returned from Yellowstone National Park, where the Alameda Sun was shining, and the falls were falling. It was a return visit for Angie, having been there 57 years ago with her brother. A little information about the canyon: Scientists think the oldest Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone formed in rock and sediments about 160,000 to 140,000 years ago. Past and current hydrothermal activity altered and weakened the rhyolite, making the rocks softer. The Yellowstone River eroded these weakened rocks to deepen and widen the canyon, a process that continues today. “The Sun Shines Everywhere” attempts to show the Alameda Sun in every state of the Union and every country in the world.
