Sept. 7, 1987 – Feb. 23, 2014 Resident of Alameda

Born in Alameda, on Sept. 7, 1987, to Clifford and Sally Lancaster, Jackson passed away on Feb. 23, 2014, at the age of 26. Jackson is survived by his five siblings, Alec, Lila, Ivan, Joseph, and Chelsea.

He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Troy. Jackson was raised in Alameda, and he attended Lincoln Middle School, Alameda High School, and Island High School. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 5 to 9 p.m. at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church at 3108 Van Buren St., Alameda.

A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. A reception will follow immediately after the service at St. Philip Neri Hall. Internment will take place at 2 p.m. at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd. in Hayward.

March 6, 1934 – Jan. 30, 2014

Resident of Alameda Bob passed away surrounded by loving family and friends. He touched many lives with his gentle spirit and positive outlook on life. Born in New York, Bob attended Syracuse University and graduated from Harvard Business School with a Masters in Business Administration.

He had a long distinguished career in management consulting. Bob is survived by the “love of his life,” Darlene, his daughters, Brooke Hessler and Courtney Wilkin and his fun-loving grandchildren, Katie and Kyle. He also leaves behind his 92-year-old father-inlaw, Ron Gervasoni (Gloria), his brother-in-law, Ron Gervasoni and sister-in-law, Kim Gervasoni.

He was predeceased by his brotherin- law Mike Gervasoni. Additionally he will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Bob will be in the hearts of his many friends (especially the “Potluck Group”) and his many clients and co-workers from his long career.

The family sends a special thank you to Dr. Castro-Moure and the many wonderful Intensive Care Unit nurses at Highland Hospital.

June 18, 1930 – Feb. 7 2014
Resident of Oakland

Helen Argyropoulos, 83, passed away on Feb. 7. She was born in Reedly, Calif., to the late Athan and Sofia Krouscas. Upon graduating from Fremont High School, in Oakland, she began working in the accounting department of Montgomery Wards, until 1957.

It was during that time, in 1952, that Helen married the late Kostos Argyropoulos. In 1966, she began working as an instructional assistant for the Oakland Public Schools, until her retirement in 1996. Helen also volunteered countless hours on the PTA board, Vacation Bible School, for the traffic patrol and as a Sunday school teacher, to name just a few.

In her spare time, Helen enjoyed stitching, flower arranging, gardening and cooking. Most of all, she loved spending time with her mutually adoring family and friends. She will be missed more than words can express.

Helen is survived by her three children: Jon and Lisa Argyropoulos of Boulder City, Nev., Doreen Argyropoulos of Castro Valley, Diane and Curtis Elia of San Carlos; and eight grandchildren: Alexander Ricker (Natalia), Aaron Argyropoulos (Elyse), Jacquelyn ‘Babes’ Ricker, Sophia Argyropoulos, Elaina Ricker, Nathaniel Elia, Nicole Elia and Rachel Elia.
