Eric Thomas Lilleland
Eric Thomas Lilleland, 75, passed away Aug. 14, 2018, at St. Joseph Hospital with his wife of 44 years at his side. Born Sept. 1, 1942, in Long Beach, Calif., Eric was adopted at birth by Ole and Edythe Lilleland. He attended Pasadena High School and after worked as a carpenter installing spas and building decks until he moved with his family to Humboldt County in 1981.
He built his home in Kneeland, Calif., as well as many other homes in and around Eureka, Calif., as an owner of a successful local construction company. He was also an active member, co-founder and fire chief of the Kneeland Volunteer Fire Department.
Eric enjoyed fishing, camping, working in his shop, riding motorcycles and sailing. In 1997 Eric and his wife sailed to Mexico and then to Alameda where they lived on their sailboat for 10 years until returning home to Kneeland.
Eric is survived by his wife Maureen, daughters Wendy Lilleland and Lisa Thornton, stepsons Randy Anderson and David Anderson (also known as “Computer Dave” in Alameda) and many longtime friends.
