Rainier Caleb Gross passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Aug. 4, 2015. Rainier Caleb was born on June 24, 2015. 

In his short five weeks of life he touched many lives and was loved deeply by his family and friends. 

His life was a brief gift to his family that will live on as his heart valves and kidneys were donated and received by those who were in need. 

Rainier Caleb is the son of Shane and Jen Gross and he is survived by his big brother, Asher Lawrence. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Rainer’s honor to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital of Oakland. 

Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1420 Lafayette St., in Alameda on Friday, Aug. 7. The service will begin at noon followed by a reception.
