Margaret Agnes Randall

Margaret Agnes Hill Randall was born in Alix, Alberta, Can., in 1919. Margaret’s mother, Jesse, died when Margaret was eight years old. 

The family moved to Alameda where Margaret went to Haight Elementary School and Alameda High School. Her sophomore year they moved to Oakland where she graduated from Fremont High School. After graduation Margaret moved back to Alameda. She went to Alameda Beauty School and became a beautician.

Soon after, she met Beverly ”Bev” Randall and they married in 1939. They bought a home in 1943 on Marina Drive next to the Oakland Estuary. They had two daughters, Karen and Bonnie. They lived in Alameda for 38 years and enjoyed many years of boating and golfing.

Margaret and Bev retired in 1979 to Calistoga and Napa. Margaret continued playing golf for many years and also loved watercolor painting, ceramics and porcelain doll making. Margaret returned to Alameda in 2017 and passed away on Mother’s Day of 2019 at the age of 99. 

Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Bev, in 2010 and previously by her sisters Mary and Jean and brothers: Earl, William and Ronald.  

She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Raymond of Pioneer, Calif., and Bonnie Randall Boller of Alameda; sons-in-law Jim Raymond and Lorne Gould; grandsons: Bob Newman (Monica), Mike Raymond (Jill), Mark Raymond (Jen), Greg Boller and Rob Boller (Marketa); plus nine great-grandchildren: Jake and Luke Newman, Emily, Andrew, Nicholas Raymond and Ashley, Zachary, Alex and Hillary Corgiat Raymond.

Margaret will be dearly missed. A family celebration of life will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alameda this summer.
