Youth Launch Piece, Kindness Campaign
Alameda Recreation and Park Department (ARPD) and Alameda Youth Committee (AYC) are asking the community to express itself during their “Piece and Kindness Campaign.” Community members can show what kindness they bring to the picture on a blank 4 x 4 puzzle piece. ARPD and AYC will fit all the pieces together and display them to promote kindness and remind the community that every piece makes the community whole.
With so much divisiveness in the world today, ARPD and AYC hope that the campaign shows how individual kindnesses come together to form a beautiful community.
Organizations can obtain pieces of the kindness puzzle by emailing Mandy McGowen at email@example.com with the name of organization and age group requesting pieces and the number of puzzle pieces needed. Every effort will be made to fulfill all requests completely but pieces are limited. ARPD asks that organizations indicate a minimum and maximum number desired.
Individuals can stop by the ARPD Office, at 2226 Santa Clara Ave., or the “Piece and Kindness Campaign” tables at South Shore Center in front of Trabocco by the frog fountain from 4 to 6 p.m., next Tuesday, Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14; from 4 to 6 p.m., next Friday, Feb. 17; and from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25.
All the puzzle pieces are due at the APRD office by Friday, March 3.
