Wood Middle School Students Raise Funds for East Bay PALS Rescue

The Animal Care Class at Wood Middle School raised $251 for People Animals Love Support (PALS) East Bay by selling baked goods and donated Starbucks coffee at STEAM Night on Nov. 9. The Animal Care & Welfare class, taught by Kasey Brown, is in its third year. The class focuses on educating kids about pet guardianship and animal awareness issues. Student-inspired and driven projects have helped shelter animals to get adopted and educated students at Wood Middle and Lum elementary schools. More than 40 guest speakers have presented to the class on a variety of animal-related topics since the start three years ago.
