Women's Golf Club Results

Wilda Moore won the charm event for the month of June by posting a score of net 66 last Thursday, June 5. Moore beat out 33 other golfers to receive the charm. The event was played on the Earl Fry Course.

Moore competed in the third flight — with a handicap of 27 to 31. She won the flight with a sizeable lead. After Moore’s net 66, the next closest competitor was Jane Sullwold who shot a net 70. Bobbie Hoepner (net 71), Diane Hughes (net 73) and Shirley Lee (net 75) rounded out the top five in the flight. 

The first flight — handicap of seven to 22 — belonged to Bernice Herzberg. Herzberg shot a net 69 for the narrow win. She was able to hold off Tai Chewpanich, who shot a net 71 and Stephanie Bellato, who shot a net 74. Both Chewpanich and Bellato shot the lowest gross score in the event with match overall 81s. Holly Cromer and Judy Eng both shot net 76s to round out the top five in the flight.

Pat O’Hara and Sherry Westernoff tied for the lead in the second flight — handicap of 23 to 26 — with a pair of net 72s. Debbie Adams was a shot off the lead with a net 73 to earn second place, while Jackie Suh came in third place with a net 75. 

Kay Park won the fourth flight — handicap of 32 to 40 — with a score of net 70. Ruby Soo came in second place with a net 74, while Angie Vaccarezza shot a net 76 for third place.

Sullwold won the closest-to-the-hole competition on the 11th hole by shooting her ball 19’3” from the pin. Herzberg (23’11”) and Bellato (40’5”) finished in second and third place, respectively.
