Weeks of Sewer Work Ahead

The city of Alameda announced last week that a sewer replacement project began last Thursday at the intersection of Park Street and Otis Drive. The project is estimated to take four weeks to complete. Work will be done at the intersection from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Sewer service will not be interrupted and no roads will be closed, but motorists and residents may experience minor disruptions in traffic, temporary loss of on-street parking, an increase in noise levels and dust during construction.

The contractor placed signs  and message boards on Otis Drive last week to announce the upcoming work and changes in parking 72 hours in advance of the planned work.
