Valor Games on the Horizon

Victor Backer and Glen Wong of Games Far West 2018 are joining the City of Alameda to host a reception to introduce the community to this year’s Valor Games — a three-day sports competition for our country's disabled veterans and service members. “Qualifying athletes include Veterans or active duty service members from any era with a disability,” said Backer.

The reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., next Wednesday, April 25 at Building 43 Winery, 2440 Monarch St., at Alameda Point. “We want to introduce the community to “Alameda Day" at the games on Saturday, June 2, said Wong. As they have for the past five years, the Valor Games will take place on Coast Guard Island, as one of four such games taking place across the country.  Athletes west of the Rockies will compete in the games here. This year will mark the first time the games are open to the public. Learn more at www.valorgamesfarwest.com.

If you are able to attend the April 25 reception, RSVP at publicrelations@fwwaa.org by Monday, April 23. Learn more by emailing sponsorship@fwwaa.org.
