Vaccine Clinic Success at Mastick Senior Center

Vaccine Clinic Success at Mastick Senior Center

On April 17, the Alameda County Public Health Department, Wellspring Pharmacy, and the City of Alameda held a free COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at Mastick Senior Center. A second Vaccination Clinic is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Mastick Senior Center.

The Moderna vaccine was used in place of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine which was shelved last week due to newly discovered potential complications. The clinic was open by appointment only, and all appointments filled rapidly.

If an appointment can be secured at a later date, bring an identification card and insurance card to the appointment. For those without insurance, bring an identification card and Social Security Number if available.

At the Mastick vaccine clinics, those who received the first of a two-dose vaccine, like Moderna, will be contacted by volunteers from the Mayor’s Vaccine Task Force to schedule a second vaccine appointment. More information may be obtained by calling the Vaccine Hotline at 510-747-7512.

Safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines are a critical part of the effort to end the pandemic.
