The St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) high school spring sports regular season came to a close last week, but several teams are playing in league tournaments.

The SJND men’s basketball team (14-13 overall) took on El Cerrito on Tuesday, Feb. 17, in the Tri-County Athletic League (TCAL) semifinal. The Pilots downed St. Mary’s of Albany 61-39 in the first round on Friday, Feb. 13. If they win they will face the winner of St. Patrick/St. Vincent of Vallejo and Salesian of Richmond on Feb. 20.

The women’s team (17-10) faced Salesian in the semifinal on Tuesday. The winner will play the victor of St. Mary’s and Pinole Valley tomorrow. The Pilots beat Kennedy of Richmond 63-47 in the first round on Friday, Feb. 13.

The SJND men’s soccer team (12-6-3 overall) bowed out early in the TCAL soccer tournament. The team lost to Kennedy 4-0 in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday, Feb. 10. However, the Pilots still qualified for the North Coast Section Division II playoffs. The team’s seeding and opponent was not determined by press time. Other Alameda schools’ postseason berths were also not determined by press time.
