Tsunami Readiness Meeting Set for Wednesday Oct. 30
The City of Alameda will host a community meeting with local, state and federal tsunami experts next week to help residents prepare for a potential tsunami. The meeting will discuss what Alameda residents need to do to prepare for a tsunami.
The tsunami presentation takes place Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 6:30 p.m., at City Hall, City Council Chambers, 2263 Santa Clara Ave.
When a tsunami is expected, the City of Alameda will issue tsunami warnings to alert the public which areas need to evacuate. To receive tsunami warnings as well as other emergency alerts by voice, text and email, click on the “subscribe” button on the Alameda County Alert website www.acgov.org/emergencysite.
