Those Election Mailers by the Numbers

 

A local resident and registered Democrat took the effort to tally the direct-mail pieces sent on local issues and candidates the last election. The resident received at total of 88 pieces. 

Here’s how they broke down:
• Ashcraft: 3
• Bonta: 1
• Corbett: 2
• Harris: 1
• Popalardo: 1
• Roloff: 1
• Skinner: 8
• Swanson: 1
• Tam: 1
• Vella: 4
• Williams: 1
• Yes on B1: 7
• No on B1: 3
• Yes on K1: 1
• No on K1: 2
• Yes on L1: 8 
(all included “No on M1”)
• Yes on M1: 2
• No on M1: 7 
(not counting pro-L1 mailers)

For the races outside of Alameda, two mailers were sent for RR, one for C1, four for A1, three each for Props 51 and 52, two for Prop 54 and one each for Props 55 and 60. The slate, multi-candidate and club (i.e. Sierra Club) mailers totaled 17. 

The only negative mailers were against Councilmember Tony Daysog that came via supporters of Malia Vella or of Vella and Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft.
