Support the Alameda Point Collaborative May 19
The Alameda Point Collaborative’s (APC) annual fundraiser, The Farm to Table Luncheon, has been set for Saturday, May 19. APC invites Alamedans to come eat, celebrate and advocate for a great cause at the APC Farm. Supporting the less fortunate gives extra meaning to the words strength, home and kindness.
The lunch takes place from 1 to 3 p.m and features delicious food from A Forkful of Earth. This farm-to-table experience will happen in the center of APC’s two-acre urban working farm right here in the Island City. The meal includes a completely organic and sustainable meal prepared with produce directly from the farm.
APC hosts this unique fundraiser each year to raise funds for the hundreds of residents living within its supportive housing community on the decommissioned Naval base at Alameda Point. With every dollar raised, APC is given more support in its mission against fighting homelessness and poverty.
Saint George Spirits, a neighbor to APC, will be serving original cocktails featuring its one-of-a-kind spirits. St. George was founded by Jörg Rupf, the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Distilling Institute and a five-time nominee for Outstanding Wine & Spirits Professional by the James Beard Foundation. Friends to APC and master distillers, Lance Winters and Dave Smith, concoct the brilliant spirits behind past luncheon favorites like, the Green Chile Vodka and Pear Brandy. A new selction of delicious cocktails will be featured at this year’s event.
Faction Brewery, another neighbor to APC, will serve craft beer from its award winning brewery. Opened by Rodger Davis and Claudia Pamparana in December 2013, Faction strives to make great beers that everyone can enjoy. To better the community around them, Faction has generously chosen to work closely with local non-profits like APC.
The public is invited to give the gift of strength, home and kindness at APC’s Urban Farm to Table Luncheon.
APC is located at 677 West Ranger Ave. For more information, or to purchase tickets to the luncheon, call 898-7800 or visit apcollaborative.org.
