Students Raise Money to Help Local Animals

The Animal Care and Welfare Class at Wood Middle School proudly presented Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) with a donation of $250 last week. The contribution was raised by sixth, seventh and eighth graders during fundraising activities, including selling pizza after school. The donation was presented on Oct. 18 to FAAS Executive Director Nancy Baglietto and Volunteer Coordinator Cindy Shelby. A class on animal care, taught by Casey Brown, is in its second year at Wood Middle School. The class is a great opportunity for students to be involved in causes they care about and see how their hard work can make a difference. Above, the students display their donation.
