Section title games are supposed to be the most competitive games of the high school basketball postseason because they match teams of similar skills compared to regional and state finals. That was not the case for the Encinal women’s basketball team in the North Coast Section (NCS) Division III women’s basketball title game last Saturday, March 8.
Five minutes into the contest the Miramonte Matadors of Orinda put the clamps on the Jets to the tune of a 20-6 run to start the game.
The St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) men’s basketball team’s North Coast Section (NCS) Division V title bid came to a controversial, but successful close last Saturday, March 8 with a 49-48 victory over Branson of Ross.
