Souper Bowl of Caring Sunday
Before the big game starts, Alamedans can take part in the fight against hunger at the Souper Bowl of Caring hosted by First Presbyterian Church of Alameda. This Sunday, Feb. 3, families and friends gather together to watch the Super Bowl, feasting on snacks, while an estimated 40 million Americans are food insecure and struggle to put food on the table.
“Imagine the impact we could make if everyone who watched the game gave one dollar or one can of food to help our neighbors in need,” said church member Bruce Johnson. “Show the world what it means to be a champion off the field.”
First Presbyterian will “change the game” by contributing 100 percent of food and dollars donated at its 10:30 a.m. worship this Sunday to the Alameda Food Bank in an effort to tackle hunger.
First Presbyterian is located at 2001 Santa Clara Ave. For more information call 522-1477 or write email@example.com.
