Softball Season Underway

Four Alameda Girls’ Softball Association contests took place on the weekend of March 22 and 23.

The Harbor Bay Realty Thunderbolts took on the Tucker Dolphins in the age six-under match up. Harbor Bay’s Zaia Kramer’s homerun finished the first inning by bringing in multiple base runners. The six-under game did not have an official score.

The Eyewise Optometry Purple Pigs beat the Event Magic Monarchs 3-0 in the eight-under match. The Monarchs went scoreless during the contest, but made some great defensive plays. Sophia Tramel looked great in her pitching debut.

The Alameda Auto Body Purple Poison beat the Dr. Johnson Royals 10-8 in the 10-under game. Marisa Perez and Maddie Mersch did some excellent pitching. Perez struck out two players in the bottom of the first and Mersch ended the game with three strikeouts in the bottom of the fifth. Perez also bombed a two-run homerun in the first inning.

The Alameda Orthopedic Sour Lemons lost to the Next Level Speed Demons 7-6. The Speed Demons’ Taylor Andolsek hit a homer in the first inning. Mary Starnes broke the game open on a bases-loaded triple that scored three Speed Demon runs.
