SJND on Hot Streak Entering Postseason


The St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) women’s basketball team has been on a dominant streak as postseason play approaches. The Pilots have won three in a row by perplexing margins. In its last three games SJND has outscored opponents 253-54. 

The Pilots defeated Redwood Christian of San Lorenzo, 84-18, on Jan. 29. In the contest the Pilots led 52-12 at halftime. The Eagles did not score in the fourth quarter. Senior Andrea Rogers led the team with 14 points. 

SJND drubbed College Prep of Oakland, 77-18, on Jan. 31. The Pilots led 54-11 at halftime. Junior Malia Mastora led the team with 12 points, while her sister Makena scored 10 points. Twelve Pilots scored at least one point in the contest.

Lastly, the Pilots beat Deer Valley High of Antioch, 92-18, on Feb. 2. The Pilots scored 45 points in the first quarter. Makena and freshman Randi Harding led the team with 15 points.

The Pilots are 18-6 overall. They ended the regular season Thursday, Feb. 7 against Skyline High of Oakland.
