Sizable Victories at Junior Golf Tourney
The Alameda Junior Golf Club continued its 2018 summer season with a tournament at the Chuck Corica Golf Club July 11.
Adrian Davis shot a stellar round to run away with the win in the boys’ 16- to 18-year-old division. He shot a 66 to win the competition. Nolan Floyd finished in second place with a 74. He was one stroke ahead of Kevin Thai who shot a 75.
Henry Lambert won the boys’ 14- to 15-ear-old division with a 75. Lambert beat out Brice Chin and Cooper Gunning. Chin shot an 81 for second place, while Gunning posted an 86.
Amaan Kanji earned the biggest margin of victory of the day. Kanji won the boys’ 12- to 13-year-old division with a 74. Ethan Gonzales came in second place, but he offered no real resistance to Kanji with his score of 90. Nicolas Robertson shot a 96 for third place.
Isabel Kim won the girls’ 15- to 18-year-old division with a 75. She beat out Alexandra Hauek handily who posted a 91 for second place. Janissa Salazar shot a 96 for third place.
Penny Chai won the girls’ 12- to 14-year-old division. She shot an 80. Abigail Lam posted a 93 for second place, while Wendy Mapaye shot a 96.
