Sign up Now for Summer Camps

Alameda Recreation & Park Department (ARPD) has prepared another summer of programs for kids. ARPD’s Summer Day Camp has been around since 1953, and the department is proud to announce it has, once again, been voted the Best Camp in Alameda Magazine’s “Best of Alameda Contest.” Campers can enroll in one of three programs: Hidden Cove, Trails End or Trailblazers.

  • Hidden Cove is for children who have completed all-day kindergarten and first grade. Campers take exciting adventures in the outdoors with hiking, introduction to archery, camp skills, cooking and nature crafts. Hidden Cove takes place at Robert Crown Memorial State Beach.
  • Trails End is for children who have completed second through fifth grades. Campers explore Redwood Regional Park in the Oakland hills, while taking part in hiking, orienteering, nature crafts, cooking and much more.
  • Trailblazers is an exciting three-day program that includes an overnight in Redwood Regional Park for children who have completed third through fifth grades. All programs include an out-of-town field trip. All campers receive a camp T-shirt each week.

Campers are transported to and from Alameda for Trails End and Trailblazers.

Hidden Cove offers three weekly sessions from Monday, June 17 to Friday, July 5 (closed July 4); Trails End offers four weekly sessions from Monday, July 8 to Friday, Aug. 2 and Trailblazers takes place Monday, Aug. 5 through Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Registration is now open for all summer programs. To register, and find out more about all ARPD programs for youth, adults and seniors, visit www.alamedaca.gov/Departments/Recreation-Parks.
