See Local Artist Paint this Saturday

Fans of watercolor painting can join local artist Ginny Parsons to see her produce her latest works alongside the Making Lemonade exhibit this Saturday, Oct. 7, from 1 to 3 at Rhythmix K Gallery. Parsons uses common household ingredients like borax and peanut butter in her intuitive paintings. An environmental artist, she paints on found materials with leftovers people leave on her porch.

Making Lemonade gave artists an opportunity to interpret the proverbial phrase, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” The exhibition features 13 local artists who give homage to “lemons” by transforming ordinary ideas and materials into extraordinary works of art. Through the use of photography, ceramics, woodwork, collage and encaustic art, Making Lemonade encourages the viewer to find the beauty in what might be overlooked.

The show features artists: Christo Braun, Jackie Carlise, Jenn Doyle Crane, Ed Holmes, Janet Koike, Pons Maar, Eben Ostby, Ginny Parsons, Marc Ribaud, Charlie Sullivan, Deb Sullivan, Tom Varghese and Jan Watten.
