Second-Graders Speak Out for Inclusiveness

 

After racist graffiti was found at Edison Elementary School last November, the second-graders at Otis Elementary School teamed up to create this poster to let everyone know how they felt. The incident sparked gatherings at all Alameda elementary schools. Community members and parents greeted students with heart-festooned signs assuring them that “Everyone belongs here.” The second-graders echoed that theme with their poster.
