School Supply Drive Launched

Effort provides low-income students with school supplies

The fifth annual “Equipped 4 Success” school supply drive kicks off this week. The community drive provides low-income Alameda students in kindergarten through 12th grade with new backpacks and quality, grade-level appropriate school supplies.

Members of the community may support the drive in three ways:
• Make a financial donation online at www.AlamedaEducation.org or mail a check to AEF, P.O. Box 1363, Alameda, CA 94501.
• Purchase items online at roonga.com/e4s/.
• Donate items at Alameda fire stations No. 1 (Encinal at Park), No. 2 (Pacific near Webster), and No. 4 (Bay Farm).

Donations will be collected until Friday, Aug. 19.

Equipped 4 Success is a collaboration of the Alameda Education Foundation that serves as the coordinator and fiscal agent for the drive; the Alameda Unified School District; the Alameda Collaborative for Children, Youth and their Families; the Alameda Boys and Girls Club; the Alameda Point Collaborative; Alameda Head Start; Dream Catchers Youth Services; and Girls Inc. of the Island City.

Visit alamedaeducation.org for more information and for a complete list of items being collected.
