Rhythmix Cultural Works is celebrating its 15th anniversary and sending long-time Executive Director Tina “Bean” Blaine off with a bang next Saturday, July 30th, with the Pour Your HeART Out dance party and fundraiser. The event will support RCW’s youth arts education programs. After two challenging years, Rhythmix is excited to present SambaDá, a high-energy Brazilian dance band in its courtyard with a VIP reception in its theater. The event will feature live music, a wine raffle, hor’dourves and desserts for VIP ticket holders, and a variety of beverages from local wineries and breweries.

Since its founding, Rhythmix Cultural Works’ mission has been to share dance, music, and art from around the world with all ages. In 2012, Rhythmix received its first grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Rhythmix launched its Performance, Art & Learning program (PAL) that same year. In its inaugural year, the PAL program served 900 students from Alameda schools with free multicultural arts assemblies and the program has grown exponentially since then. During the pandemic, PAL shifted to a virtual format and expanded its outreach to serve 25,000 students throughout Alameda County. In 2022, the PAL program reached its 10-year milestone, serving more than 65,000 elementary students with free cultural arts assemblies.

Over the past 15 years, Rhythmix has also produced a number of free public art events to spread art throughout the community. Fourteen Art Walks featuring live music and dance alongside visual artists displaying their work in empty storefronts, three installments of the Island City Waterways project sharing Alameda history, and so much more!

On Saturday, July 30, from 2 to 5 p.m., come out and show support for this arts organization — drop by, grab a drink, groove to the sounds of SambaDá’s high-energy Brazilian music in the courtyard, and enter to win cases of premium wine donated by Connoisseurs Guide to California Wines! The VIP reception features tastings of food catered by local eateries, fabulous wineries, breweries, with discounted tickets for the outdoor dance party plus no-host bar.
